Paris LUST LIST: Longchamp Le Pliage

Everywhere I went in Paris, I was surrounded by the Longchamp Le Pliage. I have wanted one for a while and I couldn't turn but see one of these bags. I'm hoping the boyf might treat me to one for Christmas.

Is there one special item that you have lusted after for a while?

"I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address"

There is something about brand new stationary that is so delightful. This afternoon I took a fantasy shopping trip to Smythson. I dream that one day I might be able to afford some personalised correspondence cards from Smythson. The dream would be Name-Engraved Correspondence Cards with a stiletto motif on a white card with blue ink. How gorgeous is the motif (below)? However, a set of 50 cards would cost me £354.00. Ouch.

But the personalised cards aren't the only thing on my fantasy shopping list today. When money is no object, why stop there, afterall!?

The 'Happiness Is Shopping' pocket notebook is, of course, a must:

And what about the topically named 'Recessionista' pocket notebook?

Maybe the Red Stiletto Shoe Motif ready-to-write Correspondence Cards are more affordable at £30 for 10:

Naturally, if anyone wants to spoil me...!!!

Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend. I've just watched in amazement at Wales have won their Six Nations match against Scotland in the Welsh capital!

More soon. Love, SG

LUST LIST: London Fashion Weekend tickets!

Two years ago my sister, my best friend and I took ourselves off to the Natural History Museum in London - the then venue of London Fashion Week - for it's little sister event, London Fashion Weekend. For anyone who has ever dreamed of being front row at LFW, this is for you. It might not be same but it gives you a good flavour of the real thing. This year it has relocated to Somerset House - the new home of LFW!

It is described as the "ultimate designer fashion and shopping event".

I am so so tempted to get tickets for this year!! It's taking place 25th – 28th February 2010, so I still have time to decide - just!

It is basically two floors FILLED with discounted designer clothes and accessories. I got myself a gorgeous necklace from London jewellery designer Jamie - that I had wanted forever - with more than 50% off the normal price. Last year the designers who sold at London Fashion Weekend included DKNY, Lulu Guinness, Sass & Bide, American Retro, Beatrix Ong, Belle & Bunty, Eley Kishimoto, Kors by Michael Kors, Linda Farrow and Philip Treacy!!

Plus make-up demonstrations from Elizabeth Arden and hair cutting and styling by Toni&Guy - official hair sponsors of LFW itself!

And if the shopping wasn't enough, there is also a 40-minute professional catwalk show featuring designer trends for Spring/Summer 2010 at the British Fashion Council catwalk venue. The photos below are from two years ago when I was at London Fashion Weekend and we snagged front row seats at the show!

There is also the opportunity to get a goody bag which, of course, we did and it wasn't too bad either - ours had Toni&Guy products, St Tropez products, Elizabeth Arden products and Chambord liquer!

If you want to go, check out the website for more information and to buy tickets, which start from just £12.50!

If you're planning on going, let me know! And, of course, let me know how you get on!!

Dressing Up: New Year's Eve

While most of the world is waking up with a sore head I, thankfully, am feeling better than I normally do on 1 January! The boyf and I went for dinner at Strada last night and then headed back to our flat for a glass of Cava and a bit of Jools Holland to see in the New Year!

I haven't dressed up in ages and decided to use last night as the perfect excuse! It all starts with THE shoes!!! (I haven't shown you these yet!!) My wonderful (!!) boyfriend bought me these GORGEOUS Carvela Mary Janes for Christmas!!!!!! (You might remember they were on my LUST LIST a while back?)

Are they not just the most DIVINE colour?! I LOVE them!

I started getting ready a few hours before we were due to leave (something I never normally do!). And, in line with my New Year's (Style) Resolution #3 I tried an up-do! What do you think?

In case it's not completely obvious, I basically took the top section and pinned it and then did two (one on each side) French plaits along the side of my head (not all that easy!) and then shoved the rest of my hair into a ponytail. Not too complicated but it's a bit different!

This is my 'dressed up' make-up for the evening! Not sure if you can see, I used a shimmery purple No 7 pallette for my eyes to match the shoes, of course! And I even dared to use liquid eyeliner! The lipstick is my absolute favourite for when I go out and is a cheapy from Rimmel (I think it's called Champagne something - perfect for NYE!).

And the outfit you ask? Well, you have to wait no longer! Here it is:

Do you remember the Dorothy Perkins outfit I put together a while ago? (Here, if you have forgotten) Well, this is the dress from it. I saw it on sale and just HAD to have it for NYE!! (At £15 HOW could I say no?!) I love the sparkly-ness and the big shoulders! I am also wearing the Carvela shoes, obviously, and a purple DP cocktail ring.

And, as the festive season is very nearly over and all the decorations have to come down in less than a week (next Tuesday, if anyone has forgotten), here is another photo of our tree - my pride and joy! The flat will look so bare without it. Sad.

Now I am off to read the Little Guide to Vintage Shopping that my sister bought me for Christmas study!

Happy New Year to everyone!

More soon. Love, SG

LUST LIST: Christian Louboutin Barbie

Who can possibly resist the Christian Louboutin Barbie doll? Well, no one, apparently - they have already sold out at net-a-porter.com.

The fabulous footwear designer, Christian Louboutin has joined forces with Barbie to create a glamorous line of limited edition dolls. The first one - Cat-burglar Barbie (above) - launched this month has the choice of four of Louboutin's statement red-soled heels to wear. She is the first in a series of three. She comes complete with a chic collectable calendar which follows the duo's fashion-filled travels.

[Check out this post on Blackberry Sherbert - where I first read about this!]

I wonder if Father Christmas bought the lot for all those fashionistas who have been ultra good recently in the hope that they might get one of these! I hope I have been!

LUST LIST: Top 10 Winter Boots

My favourite thing about winter dressing is pulling on a gorgeous snug pair of boots. So I thought I would put together a LUST LIST of 10 of my favourite pairs out at the moment. As you can see, I am loving studs at the moment!
